Maseru, Dec. 31–As the count down to the year nears, the Prime Minister Mr. Ntsokoane Matekane has urged Basotho to aim for sustainability.
This the Prime Minister said at the official hand over of the refurbished Makoanyane Square and the Maseru Main circle in an event that was held jointly with the New Year’s eve count down.
In his remarks, Mr Matekane said it has been the government’s longest plan to refurbish the two places to attract not only Basotho but also foreign tourists.
He indicates that when the places are kept clean and well taken care of they will offer sustainability that will be of better benefit for the nation.
He however urged for the cleanliness of the developments and collaborations towards the sustainability of the developments.
Additionally, the Deputy Prime Justice Nthomeng Majara said such Projects bring Basotho together, create employment and improve Lesotho’s tourism industry.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Local Government, Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police Mr. Lebona Lephema appreciated the gift from the Prime Minister and indicated that this is a reflection of Lesotho that Basotho wanted.
He said this handover is a reflection of the determination of the Prime Minister in making a positive difference in Lesotho.
The countdown of the year end is expected to be done by the Prime Minister at the main traffic circle.
