PSC CONCERNED WITH POLITICAL INTERFERENCE 

Maseru, Jul. 30 — The Public Service Commission (PSC) has raised its concerns over the political interference when filling positions in the public service, this was revealed during the PSC meeting with the Senate’s Government Assurance Committee on Tuesday. 

The Secretary General of the PSC Mrs. Tseleng Mamosotho Mokhehle indicated that the Principal Secretaries (PS) and other government officials do not understand their mandate as they have caused chaos in the hiring system of the PSC. 

She said most of the vacant positions are now being filled without following a procedure and this is one of the measure causes in the delay in processing public servants’ benefits when one retires or dies.
