QACHA’S NEK WOMAN STRANDED WITH CHILDREN

Qacha’s Nek, Dec. 17 — Mrs. ’Maabele Lephoi along with three children including one not hers but a crown witness, spent yet another night at Qacha’s Nek police station holding cells after they were forced to sleep there to be early for court.

The family, who reside at one of the most remote parts of Qacha’s Nek, was stranded due to a lack of funds.

When they first came to court, she told the Agency that they were given a ride by a judiciary car that also brought them back home.

“Yesterday, I borrowed money from our stokvel to pay for a taxi fare of M480 for all of us and M160 for a boat ride and that was all we had,” Lephoi explained.
