QACHA’SNEK CELEBRATES OLYMPIAN RAMAKONGOANA’S HISTORIC FINISH

Qacha’sNek, Aug. 15—Today, a jubilant convoy of residents, honking horns and waving banners, paraded from Ha Mpiti to the District Administrator (DA)’s premises  to welcome home Olympian Tebello Ramakongoana. 

The air was filled with ululations, emotional embraces, and heartfelt congratulations as the community celebrated Ramakongoana’s remarkable 7th place finish at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Ramakongoana, a 27-year-old athlete from Ha Mohlapiso, shattered the national record with an impressive time of 2:07:58 hours. He had secured his place in the Games after finishing 4th in a 42.2-kilometer race in Budapest on August 27, 2023, clocking in at 2:09:57…
