QUTHING TO HOST NATIONAL WORLD FOOD DAY CELEBRATION

Quthing, November 04 — The national event to mark International World Food Day will be held at  Khohlong  play ground near Mount Moorosi  Police Station in  Koali Agricultural Resource Centre  (RC) on Friday this week. 

The event on the theme ‘Right to Foods for a better life and future’, will be led by King Letsie III who has also been the African Union Nutrition Champion since 2014.

In an interview with the Agency, the Quthing District Agricultural Officer from Department of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition,  Mr. Phamotse  Maboee said the theme emphasizes the right to nutritious, affordable and sustainable foods for everyone. 

Mr. Maboee highlighted that the day will among others be dignified with education, demonstration and exhibition of various technologies of food production and food preservation throughout the year despite the effects of climate change.
