Maseru, Dec.08–Minister of Education and Training Professor Ntoi Rapapa on Monday announced Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) 2025 results.
The results are based on Advanced level, Proficient level, Basic level and Below Basic level whom he said need a lot of support.
He said this year 34,842 learners registered, while 34,165 sat for examination and 677 did not write due to going to initiation schools and loss of jobs by parents.
He said last year about 34,824 learners registered for examinations saying this is an increase of 18%, while for those who wrote the examinations last year it was 34,059 which is an increase of 106%.
He mentioned that out of 43,165 learners who sat for examinations about 218 got A level this year while last year it was about 109 saying this is an increase of 157.8 percent. For the Proficiency level, this year it is about 4,817 and in 2024 it was 4,780 which is an increase of 0.8 percent. While Basic level this year it is 23,423 learners from 20,133 in 2024 thus an increase of 16.3 percent and Below Basic level it is a decrease of 37.5 percent from 9,037 in 2024 to 5.644 in 2025 saying this is a positive sign and hopes that next year it will reduce even further…
