Thaba Tseka Jan 23 – The District Commanding officer LMPS says the district is moving from bad to worse with the high rate of criminal activities recorded.
This superintendent Karabo Morapeli stated in an interview with the Agency on Tuesday where he said in past years going as far back as 25 years back, crime statistics were not as high as it is at the moment.
He said criminal activities that they had from back then were stock theft, murder, and sexual offense which he indicated that the latter was not as high as it has become currently. He added that it could be that women and young girls did not know their rights back then.
He said in the past years, people would steal animals to feed themselves and sell but it was not at this high rate which is occurring currently, where it is said these years stock theft has gone out of control and has become a game.
