Maseru, Nov.19—Rapelang Chaka, one of the witnesses who on Tuesday testified in a case in which four men are charged with the murder of Mothibe Mothibe, Thomello Ntsane and Ralikonelo Joki, has denied that he was tasked by the police to implicate some of the accused in this matter.
In his evidence in chief, the witness told the court that the vehicle of Mothibe was shot at by Mothusi Tlelase and Sootho Liphoto, some of the accused in this case, while he and Sekhobe Maama were watching.
During cross-examination, he denied that he was influenced by the police to testify, indicating that he confessed before them and a magistrate as he knew what happened. He stated that although the police were not soft with him during interrogations and he was scared, he told the truth…
