Maseru, Aug. 20 — Adolescent Health Program Manager, Mrs. Mathato Nkuatsa, has reassured young people across the country that Adolescent Health Corners remain operational and continue to serve their purpose of addressing the health needs of the country’s youth.
Speaking in an interview, Mrs. Nkuatsa said the public should not mistake the limited presence of these corners currently available only in hospitals as their absence.
She emphasised that young people are still catered for under Adolescent and Youth Friendly Services, which ensure that health professionals receive specialised training to handle youth-related issues with sensitivity and understanding.
She further noted that the newly launched #HeloMochaLetsaMahala toll-free line will go a long way in complementing Adolescent Health Corners by easing the workload in hospitals.
“Through the helpline, young people can now seek guidance privately and conveniently, breaking the barriers of stigma and fear of judgment,” she emphasised. . . .
