Berea, July 27 — As the transfer window remains open for soccer players to move to their desired clubs, Berea Ladies F.C is among the teams under a severe threat of losing its key players signing to other teams.
This unfolded after Berea Ladies F.C completed a transfer deal to LDF Ladies F.C of its three players being Itumeleng Molotsi, Limpho Nthako and Katleho Mafereka.
Berea Ladies Chairman, Mr. Lekhooa Thabaneng said having lost such high impact players to LDF Ladies is a huge blow to the team, but they had to allow them to go for greener pastures.
Mr. Thabaneng further indicated that possibilities of losing other two players to the South African teams are highly imminent as the negotiations are at an advanced stage.
However, Berea Ladies F.C Chairman having witnessed such a massive shakeup within the club, clearly implies that the players have delivered their best performance during the 2025/2026 sporting calendar.
He also reaffirmed that Berea Ladies F.C is a team that believes in unlocking the potential among the players, hence they openly wished them well after being spotted by other teams.
Berea Ladies F.C Chairman said although their plan was to challenge LDF dominance in Women Super League (WSL), their girls fought so hard that they ended the league being among the top four teams.
He further said during the off season tournaments, Berea Ladies F.C continued to surprise many people with its outstanding performance, citing that they have successfully defended their championship of Alliance Women’s Champions after beating LCS Ladies by 2-1 and playing to the finals at the Queens Cup where they lost to LDF Ladies by 5-0.
Mr. Thabaneng said with the 2026/2027 league games likely to resume, they are faced with a tough task of replacing such players and currently about four players are under their surveillance.
Furthermore, he pointed out that the coach will also work hard in coordinating both incoming and the current players, adding that their aim is to remain among the top four teams in WSL, and he further remained defiant that they still have a competitive team.
During the 2025/2026 sporting calendar, LDF Ladies F.C claimed the top spot, followed by Lijabatho Ladies F.C, Kick4Life settled for third position and Berea Ladies F.C maintained the fourth position, while both Mawes Ladies and Villa Ladies got relegated.
