DAO URGES FOR POULTRY FARMERS COOPERATION

Mokhotlong, May 20 — The District Agricultural officer, Mr. Leluma Bereng has urged for poultry farmers cooperation.

This comes after some eggs farmers cry foul over the laying rate decline in the production of eggs.

When interviewed on Monday, The District Agricultural officer Mr. Leluma Bereng stated that local eggs producers in Mokhotlong need to do cooperative businesses especially those that need field supervision. He said most farmers are not equipped and they lack knowledge on running a poultry production.

He explained that the shortage of eggs becomes a problem in winter because chickens become distressed, therefore their laying rate will decline due to short days and long nights.
