Qacha’s Nek, Dec. 04 — The Ministry of Gender, Youth and Social Development (MoGYD) commemorated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) on Wednesday, embracing this year’s theme, “Amplifying the Leadership of Persons with Disabilities for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future.”
The day, observed globally, focuses on raising awareness about disability issues and advocating for the rights, dignity, and inclusion of persons with disabilities.
Her Majesty Queen ’Masenate Mohato Seeiso, a patron of the Lesotho National Federation of Organisations of the Disabled (LNFOD), emphasized that the celebration aims to highlight the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities.
She urged equal participation and the promotion of human rights for all, adding that the theme calls for national inclusion and the recognition of disability rights across all sectors.
