HOUSES, CROPS DAMAGED BY HAIL STORM 

Mokhotlong, Feb. 16 — Houses, crops and livestock are reported to have been damaged by hailstorm that fell at some villages within the Bobatsi Constituency in the district on Saturday.

According to a report from the District Disaster Management Officer (DDMO), Mr. Sekake Thamae said he started to receive reports on hailstorm that fell from 5:00pm, adding that the affected villages include Tsekong, Ha Ntsika, Ha Sibi and Ha Ralitlhare.

He said houses have been destroyed while crops such as beans, wheat, maize and others have been damaged and may result in reduced harvest on crop production and potential economic losses for farmers.

Mr. Thamae said the Disaster Management Authority Office in the district is expecting to receive more reports that may come in from the local authorities of the affected villages.
