Mohale’s Hoek, April 19 — With the purpose of addressing farmers’ challenges from various farming associations, the Lesotho National Farmers Union (LENAFU) board held a meeting with farmers on Friday.
LENAFU’s chairperson Mrs. ‘Mathabo Tsepa articulated that among other responsibilities of the board is to oversee that associations are still operational and have ample members, and functioning committees, noting the visit will also strengthen relations between LENAFU and farmers.
Mrs. Tsepa further indicated that for a district association to be recognized as a well operating one, it has to have multiple independent associations registered under its wing.
On the other hand Lekhetho Tlali on behalf of the District Agricultural Officer, urged farmers who are not members of the Mohale’s Hoek District Farmers Association to do so, noting it becomes easy to get any form of assistance when they are working together not individually.
