Mohale’s Hoek, July 16 — The Ministry of Environment and Forestry will on Friday host a roadshow on Natural Resources Governance at Siloe, Taung.
This was confirmed by the Ministry’s District Coordinator, Mr. Charles Eti Matlabe, in an interview with the Agency, by noting that they will be creating awareness on how to manage natural resources properly, and how failure to do so could affect villagers day to day lives.
Mr. Matlabe further indicated that the Ministry is concerned about the rate at which the land is degrading, dongas erupting uncontrollably as well an extreme way in which soil is eroding, highlighting that harvesting of indigenous herbs lives the environment bare, hence the aforementioned roadshow, which is being supported by the Generation Of Landscapes And Livelihoods (ROLL) project.
He concluded by articulating that in August the country will hold a dialogue on Natural Resources, and civilians suggestions on how to manage Natural Resources are being collected.
