NURSING MOTHERS CONTRIBUTE TO MALNUTRITION

Mohale’s Hoek, June, 24 — Nursing mothers are presumed to be playing a huge role in the escalating the high rate of malnutrition in the district, as they are reported to be neglecting their toddlers.

This transpired in a meeting held by the District Nutrition Team, with the purpose of discussing the quarterly brief report and the team’s progress initiative.

In this meeting, one member mentioned a specific case of a 2 year and 6 months old child in  Maqhena, who is unable to walk and appeared to be neglected by the mother, who refused interventions from village health workers and neighbours. . .
