OPPOSITION LIKELY TO TEST WATERS IN PARLY-MAPHALLA

Maseru, Oct 10 – Former long serving Member of Parliament Mr. Sello Maphalla says the opposition is likely to take full advantage of the three expelled members of the major coalition partners Revolution for Prosperity (RFP) in the National Assembly.

The National Assembly will assemble on Friday from the winter break.

When asked what to expect in the National Assembly following the expulsion of the three Members of Parliament for Abia, Lithoteng and Matlakeng constituencies by RFP, Mr. Maphalla said even though not much will happen on Friday when the House reconvenes from the winter break, he said the opposition could test the waters in the coming weeks.

He believed that the opposition ought not to be direct by proposing a motion of no confidence against the Government, but rather be tactical in their approach by driving the Government to vote on any issues in the National Assembly to see if the Government still enjoys the support of the Members or not.
