Quthing, Dec. 09 – – People living with albinism are at risk of getting skin cancer due to lack of creams for their protection from extreme heat currently being experienced in the country.
People living with albinism need protection from the harmful effects of the sun due to lack of melanin in their skin which serves as a shield from the sun.
In an interview with the Agency, the Chairperson of Albino Link Quthing Mr. Kabi Thulo, highlighted that lack of pigmentation in hair, skin and eyes cause vulnerability to the sun and bright light, adding that people living with albinism are prone to develop cancer, and there is no cure for absence of melanin in the central metabolism…
