Maseru, Aug. 26 — Excitement fills the capital as Lesotho prepares to welcome back Prime Minister Ntsokoane Matekoane, fresh from the announcement that the country has been removed from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Troika list.
From early morning, Maseru’s streets have been buzzing with song, ululations and flags waving high.
Traders along Kingsway have decorated their stalls with blue, white, and green, turning the city centre into a moving canvas of national pride. Taxi drivers honk in rhythm, school children waved and elders recalled the long road the nation has walked to reach this moment.
At the airport, a jubilant crowd gathered, some dressed in traditional attire, others in modern attire, all united in anticipation.
