PRINCIPAL CHIEF SPEAKS ON REFORMS

Maseru, Dec. 22 – The Principal Chief of Thaba – Bosiu, Chief Khoabane Theko says, now that the government has shared way forward  following Appeal Court case on reforms, there is need to put fights aside to allow  implementation.

According to the Principal Chief, Kananelo Boloetse’s  case along with others had put a hold to the already done work, saying now that the court has made a ruling, reforms should now be seen to be moving speedily.

He pointed out that as the Omnibus Bill will now be following normal procedures to see light in Parliament, benchmarking should be done and the government should continuously consult stakeholders such as the ones mentioned above for efficiency purposes.

Additionally, he appealed to government to consult former  NRA Chairperson, Chief Pelele Letsoela and others who were actually hands on in reforms.

“Gone are the days when Basotho would make squabbles first, before they could achieve their goals.” He stressed.
