QACHA’S NEK MAN FACES MULTIPLE CHARGES

Qacha’s Nek, Sept. 04 — In a dramatic turn of events today, Resident Magistrate ’Mampho Mokoena has handed down hefty sentences to Reamohetsoe Konokono-Makhinakhoe, a 20-year-old from Ha Motloang, Melikane.

Konokono-Makhinakhoe faced multiple charges, including house-breaking, theft and escape from police custody, along with a recent incident of illegal grass burning.

The charges stem from a series of incidents beginning with a house-breaking on May 27, 2023. Konokono-Makhinakhoe was found guilty of stealing a cooking silver pot with its lid, a hen and M500 from his former employer, Mr. Manqongo Beneshe of Likolobeng.

The young man also escaped from Ramats’iliso police custody on June 1, 2023, and was later involved in grass burning at Mapakising on August 12, 2024.
