RAKABAELE’S FOOT PRINT REVIVED

Maseru, Sept 18 – The late Gabasheane Vincent Rakabaele who was the first African marathon runner to be presented with Comrades marathon gold medal will have a statue build in his name as part of Basotho celebration of 200 years existence.

One of the organizers behind this initiative Mr. Sechaba Moqoko told the Agency that this cherished dream becomes a reality.

He said they will also make a documentary in Mr. Rakabaele’s name in which his achievement will be written.

Furthermore, Mr. Moqoko said in corporation with Mr. Rakabaele’s family, they will establish an athletics academy as part of Mr. Rakabaele Institute where young and upcoming athletes will be groomed.
