RAPAPA URGES BASOTHO TO PROTECT CHIEFTAINSHIP

Berea, March 11 — Minister of Education and Training Professor (Prof) Ntoi Rapapa says chieftainship is the pillar of strength for the Basotho nation and there is a need to value it and be protected.

The Minister of Education made the remarks during the Moshoeshoe’s day celebration held at Assumption Primary school on Monday which also saw in attendance six primary schools of Teyateyaneng Centre.

Prof Rapapa said they strongly acknowledge the parents of King Moshoeshoe I for giving them a hero who managed to unite Basotho nation on the pillars of love, humbleness, forgiveness, critical thinking and to accept being guided by religious leaders and his enemies as well.

He further said as a result of his bravery and good leadership skills, today we stand as a Basotho nation who were never captured as compared to other nations such as Zulus and Xhosas who were believed to be strong, hence the need to celebrate him.
