RECORD COULD HAVE ASSISTED COURT-LAWYER

Maseru,Nov.11—Advocate Motene Rafoneke, a prosecutor in a case in which two army members are charged with the murder of Lisebo Tang which occurred in 2014 near the home of Retired Army Commander Lieutenant General Tlali Kamoli, says a record of bullets issued to the accused when they started their shift could have assisted the court to have a better understanding of how many bullets were used on the fateful day.

Corporal Tjekane Sebolai and Private Selone Ratsíu who were on May 09, 2014, on duty at the residence of Kamoli, are alleged to have shot and killed Tang who was in the company of Tsépo Jane who survived the shooting with injuries. It is further alleged that they also damaged a vehicle belonging to Jane by shooting at it.

Adv. Rafoneke told Warrant Officer Liau Jase, one of the defence witnesses, during cross-examination, that while in his evidence he stated that the accused used 24 bullets on that day, evidence by a Scene of Crime Investigator in the case is that the vehicle that was at the scene had 42 bullet holes…
