MASERU – The Minister of Gender, Youth and Social Development Mr. Pitso Lesaoana says the 2025 Sebabatso conference for youth will be held from September 15-19.
In his official statement, the Minister stated that the Prime Minister (PM), Mr. Ntsokoane Matekane as the founder of the initiative meant to support local youth entrepreneurs is expected to join youth at this upcoming conference.
He appealed to all Basotho to continue supporting all local entrepreneurs including youth ventures, and buy their products and services on a monthly basis.
According to the Minister, the government led by the PM continues to explore various avenues that would bring in investment opportunities for growth and development of youth businesses.
Meanwhile, he stated that United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) through their well-known STEAM initiative – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics, is also supporting the upcoming conference holistically.
In another story, Mr. Lesaoana said youth should always remember that Sebabatso is also about competing and coming out top with business skills, ideas and expertise, adding some will also get an opportunity to participate at the Youth Connekt Africa Summit to be staged in Madagascar before the end of this year.
Sebatso upcoming conference comes after the PM launched Sebabatso two (2) Youth Conference previously, reflecting on its speedy growth since Sebabatso one (1) inaugural which was launched during International Youth Day in 2023 by PM.
