SHORTAGE OF FUNDING HINDER PROGRESS ON CHILDREN’S  SERVICE DELIVERY

Mafeteng, April 15 — The majority of participants at the one day training for District Child Protection Team says shortage of funding for team members hinder some of quality service delivery concerning issues affecting children.

Speaking at the meeting held at the Ministry of Education and training Boardroom on Monday they said as a result of shortage of funding beside their other commitment within their respective government ministries and non-governmental organisations they do not meet regularly as they had to seat for at least once every month to discuss all issues affecting the life of children negatively.

They indicated that issues affecting children are too brought hence the need for members of the team to meet and discuss how best they could improve the service unlike working individually as being the case right now, indicating that majority of government ministries including that of Gender, Youth, and Social development where children issues are being dealt with do not have enough resources to support the team.
