Maseru, Mar. 13 — The United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) hosted government ministries, Civil Society Organisations as well as the private sector to the signing of its annual work plan.
This event which had Principal Secretaries and Deputy Principal Secretaries from different government ministries was held in Maseru on Wednesday.
In his opening remarks, the Country Director for UNICEF Lesotho Mr. Deepak Bhaskaran said that this work plan is going to work on ensuring that the future of the Basotho children is steered into the direction which will be of positive outcome.
He stated that it is through effective collaborations with all the relevant stakeholders that a conducive environment for Basotho children is attained.
Mr. Bhaskaran however mentioned that many children across the country still face challenges of malnutrition, HIV related impacts as well as access to education which he said still calls for more action from the children’s rights agencies as to ensure that children acquire such without any inequalities.
