Leribe, Aug. 08 — The Ministry of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation (MICSTI) held the District Youth Innovation Media Drive at Thakaneng Hlotse in Leribe yesterday.
Addressing the youth, MICSTI Assistant Research Officer Mrs. Puseletso Thubela said the purpose of the event is to inspire youth to embrace innovative thinking, explore emerging technologies and identify opportunities for making such innovations marketable.
She said it encourages youth to join Sebabatso Youth Entrepreneurship Development Programme and Science Technology Engineering Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) under United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Additionally,she highlighted that the event features discussions on STEAM and Sebabatso initiatives both of which are designed to empower and uplift youth through knowledge, creativity and technology.
