ARMY COMMANDER RAISES CONCERN OVER RECRUIT HEALTH

Maseru, Nov. 14 — The Commander Lesotho Defence Force Lieutenant General Mojalefa Letsoela has expressed serious concern about the health of young recruits in basic training.

The recruits began their 9 month training program on November 01, designed to prepare them for full military service.

As per issued press statement, despite undergoing medical checks before training, some recruits have developed serious illnesses once training began, suspected to be linked to the training environment.

The army has already suffered the loss of two recruits to long-term illnesses during training.

LDF Command is urgently exploring new measures to prevent further health risks as training continues.

The Army Commander has appealed to parents and the wider community to remain strong and united in the face of these troubling developments.

”Together we safeguard our youth, protect their future and strengthen our nation. Every step of this 9 month journey must be safe and secure”.
