Berea, March 09 — Schools across Berea are gearing up to mark Moshoeshoe’s Day on Friday, March 13, with cultural displays and sports competitions aimed to take place across all centers in Berea
The Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) Acting District Manager, Mrs. Matholoana Sello, stated that all seven centers within the district will organize celebrations.
She emphasized that Moshoeshoe’s Day will be observed at CX, Teyateyaneng, Berea, Sefikeng, Malimong, Sebetia and Mapoteng centers, providing students with an opportunity to exhibit their talents and honor their heritage locally.
Mrs. Sello added that the day offers more than just a public holiday, describing it as an opportunity for students to learn about Basotho history and know their roots.
“Moshoeshoe’s Day honors the founder of the Basotho nation and highlights unity, heritage and resilience,” Mrs. Sello said.
She also added that students will participate in cultural activities, sports and other events designed to promote cultural pride.
The event aims to connect students with their Basotho heritage and turn Moshoeshoe’s Day into a full day of culture, sports and learning for all.
