LESOTHO CONTINUES TO TACKLE TB CHALLENGE

Maseru, Apr. 06 — Tuberculosis (TB) remains a significant public health concern in Lesotho, standing as the second leading cause of death in the country.

The Ministry of Health, along with its health partners, is intensifying efforts in the fight against TB.

During the World TB Day commemoration held in Maseru on Saturday, Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Chief Justice Nthomeng Majara stressed the pervasive challenge of TB in the nation, citing its multifaceted causes.

The government, through the health ministry and its partners, is steadfast in its commitment to combat TB, recognizing its interconnectedness with HIV/AIDS. DPM Majara urged the public to undergo screening at health centers for early detection, facilitating timely treatment initiation.
