LMPS PROMPT GENDER BASED VIOLENCE

Maseru, April 07 — Lesotho Mounted Police Services (LMPS) has shown a great concern regarding the high alarming rate of Gender Based Violence (GBV) among women and children occurring in the country.

According to the warning issued by LMPS GBV concerning women and children is very alarming in the country as they emphasised that male figures are supposed to be pillars to their family, however, lately they are the main villain of GBV.

LMPS has further encouraged men to nurture their wives while the wives have to honour their husbands therefore the major crisis of GBV will be defeated.

Moreover LMPS has indicated that in Lesotho lives of women and children are in a hazardous situation due to the high rate of crime that is happening daily consequently their safety is in jeopardy in every way. MM/TL
