MASERU, Nov. 11 — The High Court through Justice Molefi Makara has on Tuesday stated that a corruption case against the current Member of Parliament for Matlakeng Constituency Dr. Mahali Phamotse together with ‘Mapaseka Kolotsane and Ratsiu Majara, is not ready for hearing, therefore it cannot be assigned a hearing date until full discovery has been done.
This the court said after the it was informed that issues relating to full discovery of documents by the prosecution have not yet been resolved.
Advocate Peleha Joala who is representing the prosecution in the matter, stated that the defence has complained that some statements were not discovered and that among those that were discovered there were those that are not legible. He however indicated that when he communicated with Adv. Shaun Abrahams who was initially handling the matter, he was informed that full discovery had been made.
He however undertook to follow-up on the issue with the defence so that the illegible documents are replaced and those that are missing are furnished to the defence.
