MOTENG, THABA-PUTSOA REPORTS NO SNOWFALL

Maseru, April 08 — With the heavy rains that are experienced in some parts of the country, reports on snowfall that might make movement possible have not yet been made.

This was confirmed by the District Administrator of the Botha-Bothe district Mr. Ts’epa Chaba in an interview with the Agency on Monday.

In this interview, Mr. Chaba showed that so far, the ‘Moteng pass is still experiencing heavy rains which he said that the anticipation is that as the day goes by, there will be snow experienced.

He advised the nation to stay tuned on national radio stations to be in the light with the developments relating to the snow fall to keep safe.

Mr. Chaba however urged motorists to refrain from travelling in the highlands during the late hours or early in the morning as in such hours as ice forms in roads making it very slippery and hard to drive on.

On the other hand, the Member of Parliament for the Thaba-Putsoa constituency Mr. Lebohang Monaheng stated that at the Thaba-Putsoa pass only heavy rains and fog are currently encountered.

He also pleaded with the motorists to seize their long trips towards that area as there is a possibility of snowfall as the day goes by.

Meanwhile, the Lesotho Meteorological Services (LMS) in its four-day outlook has anticipated cold to very cold weather conditions with possibilities of isolated rainfall and moderate to heavy winds.
