Mokhotlong July 08 — The public has been urged to preserve and maintain the areas rehabilitated for biodiversity and livestock grazing.
The District Administrator for Mokhotlong Mr. Kepa Keqe made the appeal at the handing over ceremony of emergency rehabilitation measures at Khubelu priority sub-catchments.
The ceremony, led by ReNOKA, took place at Pae-La-Itlhatsoa, in the Khubelu area within Seate Community Council, Mokhotlong on Tuesday.
Mr. Keqe said when communities protect rehabilitated areas, they would be able to improve wool and mohair production as livestock would have enough grass for grazing.
He encouraged them to continue volunteering themselves on the rehabilitated area for further development. He thanked all stakeholders who contributed in the development of the area intended to restore land.
Speaking at the same event was the National Integrated Catchment Management (ICM) Coordinator for ReNOKA in Lesotho, Mr. Makomoreng Fanana who also appealed to the public to protect rehabilitated areas. . . .
