The early celebration was held at Thaba-Koto Primary School on Saturday, where the ambassador, who is also the founder of Lebakeng Development Trust, handed over sanitary towels, vegetable seeds, school shoes and socks, stationery for chiefs, sports equipment, and birth certificates to children from hard-to-reach areas.
The birth certificates were processed in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police through the National Identity and Civil Registry (NICR).
As part of an environmental initiative, apple trees were also planted during the event.
The donations benefited three schools—Thaba-Koto, Ha Lehata and Qhobosheaneng Primary Schools. Each school received 15 pairs of school shoes, 14 packs of sanitary towels and 10 apple trees, bringing the total number of trees planted to 30.
The event featured cultural performances by villagers and pupils, including traditional dances such as Mokhibo, Ndlamo, Selia-lia and Mohobelo, while a birthday song was sung in honour of the ambassador.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Sekete said road construction and telecommunications infrastructure remain among her key priorities…
