Berea, July 21 — Berea district has sent a delegation of four children to the 2025/2026 National Children’s Parliament session scheduled to convene on Thursday this week at Maseru.
This year’s National Children’s Parliament session is centered on the theme, ‘Planning and Budgeting for Children’s Rights: Progress since 2010’.
When approached for comment, the District Child Protection Team (DCPT) Berea Secretariat and also the Department of Social Development Senior Child Welfare Officer, Ms. Hape Ntili said children’s delegates are composed of two recently attended the children’s parliament session and the new ones respectively.
Ms. Ntili said the initiative of engaging in parliamentary sessions forms part of promoting child participation, particularly on things which affect them and their wellbeing and to advocate for policy change where necessary.
