BUREAU OF STATISTICS DISMISSES VIRAL RECRUITMENT SCAM

QACHA’S NEK — The Bureau of Statistics Lesotho has dismissed claims circulating on social media about an alleged “Bureau of Statistics Recruitment Scheme 2025.”

In an interview with the Agency, Bureau of Statistics Senior Statistician Nyefolo Seboka labeled the trending advert as nothing more than scams designed to cheat unsuspecting jobseekers.

She emphasized that no recruitment vacancies exist at the department currently.

She clarified that the Population and Housing Census, set for April 2026, was only officially launched last week.

Recruitment processes have not yet started, making the posters “completely false.”

“These hiring adverts are the work of fraudsters who are scamming people’s money through fraudulent means,” Seboka said. . . .
