BURNING GRASS AFFECTS LEC SUB-STATIONS

Maseru, Aug. 26– The Lesotho Electricity Company (LEC) says burning of grass negatively affects   their equipment, this was said by the LEC acting Public Relations Manager (PRM) Mr. Tsépang Ledia.

Mr. Ledia stressed that the cutting of electricity that is occurring off late is a result of spring grass burning that has burnt LEC sub-stations in Maputsoe and Metolong.

He stated that these sub-stations are expensive and having to repair them cost even more, and such incidents could be avoided by not burning grass, especially those near electricity equipment.
