Maseru, Sept 29. – The Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Minister of Justice, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Justice Nthomeng Majara says it is her democratic right to vote for the person she aspires for in her council.
The DPM said this in an interview with the Agency after casting her vote at Maseru Municipal Council (MMC) 06 Lesotho Girl Guides Association during local government elections on Friday.
She stated that as a human rights advocate, she is determined to work with whoever will come out as the winner within Maseru Central so as to establish means of making revenue for sustainability of the council activities and programmes.
She alluded that the said elections come at the time when Lesotho is on national reforms processes, adding even issues of women empowerment are critical in this regard.
However, Justice Majara expressed disappointment saying people are coming in fewer numbers at the voting centres, urging all to come and vote for growth and development of Basotho.
