Mokhotlong, Sept.30– Stakeholders in animal and human health are participating in a five day training on District Risk Assessment held in the district since Monday.
Organised by the Ministry of Health through support of the Pandemic Fund, the training is intended to further provide participants with knowledge on risk assessment using the World Health Organisation Assessment Tool called the Strategic Tool for Assessing Risks (STAR).
The training is also aimed at building the capacity of district health team in risk assessment so as to strengthen emergency preparedness, enhance compliance with the International Health Regulations (2005) as well as to enable those participating to identify, and map public health risks in the district using STAR.
