Maseru, July 20 — Members of the public and stakeholders say that the proposed water tariff by the Water and Sewerage Company (WASCO) is too steep especially with the current economic status.
WASCO has for the 2023/24 financial year proposed an adjustment of 14 percent for domestic and non-domestic water volumetric charges and 4.7 percent for domestic and non domestic water standing charges as well as 31.5 percent adjustment for sewerage.
Speaking in an interview, one Mrs. ‘Malineo Seoehla said that the proposed tariff is very high especially with the economy deteriorating each and every day.
