Berea, Aug. 01 — As Baylor College of Medicine Foundation through its project of Karabo ea Bophelo (KB) bid farewell in four districts where it was implementing some of its projects, the project has reported multiple achievements, particularly educational support for vulnerable children in Berea district.
Within the five years of project duration from 2019 to 2024, KB has implemented the Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) and Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-free, Mentored and Safe (DREAMS) programme focused in the districts such as Berea, Mafeteng, Maseru and Mohale’s Hoek.
When unpacking the successes made during the stakeholders meeting on KB Project close out, KB Monitoring and Evaluation Manager Mrs. Malehlohonolo Koleile said since 2021 to 2024 when the project was incepted the educational subsidy, it has reached at least 3000 children in each district.
Ms. Koleile said the achievements recorded were made possible through the support of their working partners which includes the District Child Protection Teams (DCPT’s), the Department of Social Development, Ministry of Education and others.
