Maseru, Nov. 09 — In a bid to combat crime this festive season, Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) in collaboration with Maseru City Council (MCC) launched Operation-Thibela campaign.
The campaign, which is implemented to ensure the safety of Basotho during festive season, is intended to combat crime, control sale of illegal substances, informal vendors, traffic, illegal waste dumping as well as to control noise pollution.
Speaking at the press conference, the Officer Commanding Pitso Ground Police Station Senior Inspector Mosito Mokhethi said they have learnt that some vendors sell drugs and alcohol illegally at bus stops, saying this contributes towards criminal activities…
