SEFIKA ADVOCATES FOR DIGITAL ID’s USAGE

MASERU – Computer Business Solutions (CBS) Managing Director, Dr. Mohlalefi Sefika has called for usage of digital Identity Documents (ID’s).

He said this when giving a lecture on digital IDs as a catalyst for Multi-Sectoral Development and Collaboration.

This during a dialogue on the role of digital ID’s and data exchange as foundational Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) held in Maseru on Wednesday.

Dr. Sefika alluded that use of digital ID’s would allow for safer and more efficient services. “One ID, one citizen and off course many services.”

He added that this would reduce fraud and leakages, improves governance while also supporting financial inclusion and credible access for citizens.

Talking to the economic impact, the Managing Director highlighted a major challenge facing government relating to paying ghost employees due to the manual way of doing things..
