Maseru, Nov. 12 — The Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) has convened a two-day Joint Education Sector Review (JESR) 2025 in Maseru on Wednesday, bringing together government officials, development partners, and education stakeholders to assess progress within Lesotho’s education sector.
In his welcome remarks, the Principal Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Rats’iu Majara said the purpose of the review is to reflect on and evaluate the strides made under the Ministry’s 10-year Education Sector Strategic Plan, which began implementation in 2016.
Mr. Majara highlighted that the JESR serves as an accountability and planning platform aimed at identifying achievements, gaps, and challenges within the system, while ensuring that all partners work collaboratively to enhance the quality and inclusiveness of education in Lesotho.
He emphasized that the review’s findings will guide evidence-based decision-making and resource allocation, particularly in addressing disparities in access, teacher capacity and infrastructure.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Education and Training Professor Ntoi Rapapa said this event will serve as a cornerstone of accountability, transparency, and collaboration of everyone taking part in ensuring for inclusive quality education…
