Maseru, Aug. 11 — The High Court through Justice Polo Banyane has on Monday revealed that a ruling on an application for discharge which was moved by five army members who are alleged to have killed three men at Mafeteng in 2012, is not ready.
The court stated that although it had reserved the judgment to today with a hope that a record of proceedings would have been transcribed and compiled for use in the judgment, it was last week informed that the transcription of the record is not even half done.
The case was therefore postponed to September 23 2025 with the hope that the record compilation will be complete by August 29 2024 and the judgment ready for delivery on that day.
The application for discharge has been moved pursuant to section 175 of the Criminal Procedure and Evidence Act.
